Based in Liverpool, covering the surrounding North West area, Vikki offers a range of services including venue decoration, styling, accessory hire and fresh or artificial floral arrangements, to help couples achieve their individual wedding day vision.
She is inspired by her wider environment, from nature and architecture to fashion and interiors and has a particular passion for experimenting with unique colour palette combinations to complement the style, season and surroundings.
[jennaopen]Vikki says[jennaclose]: After gaining a degree in textile design, I worked in a range of creative industries including fashion styling, visual merchandising, assisting with TV work and teaching fashion and textile design. I decided to set up Vikki Rose Wedding & Events Styling to channel my endless creativity and obsessive attention to detail. I have always been passionate about presentation, so having the opportunity to create a brand-new vision for a client every week is my idea of heaven!
I provide a range of venue dressing services, from table centrepieces and floristry, chair dressing and table plans to larger unique focal points, such as stylish sweet buffets and message collection or welcome displays. I can work with fresh or artificial flowers and foliage. My website shows a range of ideas and examples, but as a stylist I am happy to create each couple’s unique vision!
This varies depending on the needs of my client, and I love that about the job – it’s so exciting to research new themes and source materials. If given a free reign I like to experiment with colour combinations and building unique collections based around unusual props or accessories. Marquee and tipi weddings provide a perfect blank canvas for styling and I also love venues that allow me to take advantage of interior and exterior spaces. I believe that little finishing touches and small details really make a difference.
I am a perfectionist, and I love to design and plan. One of my favourite parts of the job are those initial meetings and conversations with clients where ideas, personalities and different tastes are combined to eventually reach an outcome they love. I offer free consultations, meeting face-to-face where possible, as getting to know my clients is really important to me. I complete all the designs myself and ensure I am at every wedding to execute the final, intricate details. It is as important to me as it is to my customers, and once I start to work on a commission, I become totally immersed in it. My clients receive a personal and professional service; no question or request is too trivial!
I seek inspiration from everything around me! Fashion, interior design, flowers, architecture or simply finding a perfect blend of colours while walking in the park or exploring on holiday. Any of these, and more, can set off a spark for me to photograph or draw and design. I never run out of ideas! And I am often working on new designs that haven’t even been requested. There is nothing more satisfying than a couple taking inspiration from my work and making it part of their special day.
I can provide floristry and venue dressing together, to ensure it all blends perfectly. My unique style of design stands out, and I create pieces that have not been seen before, like my message display set up.
I love anything that visually engages me; travel, scenery, galleries and fashion! I am passionate and determined in everything I do, maybe even a little obsessive! My heart belongs to my ten-year-old daughter and my miniature dachshund Slinky. They always make me smile after a hard day at work and can often be seen helping out in my social media posts. My work and my family keeps me very busy but also very happy. I feel very privileged to have an opportunity to do a job I enjoy.
I love that my clients completely trust my creative ability and are willing to leave design decisions in my hands. I appreciate that I am part of one of the most important days of their lives and I like to reassure each client in a way that puts them at ease. I often receive thanks for my consistent communication throughout the process. I feel it is important to share ideas and gain feedback every step of the way. I am complimented for my creativity, which is great to hear as it is undoubtedly my favourite part of the job!
A lot of brides and grooms get very stressed and affected by other peoples’ opinions on the day, and the run up to the wedding. If you can afford to get professionals to do it all for you, then let them! And if not, don’t be afraid to delegate tasks to family and friends to take the stress away! I would say, try to enjoy the whole process, when else do you get to taste cake for free and drink prosecco at wedding shows? Choose suppliers you trust and have built good relationships with so that on the day you are happy for them to be in control so you can both focus on each other and making more special memories together.
